The Law of Attraction Has Been Cheapened But It Works

September 1, 2019 By admin Leave a Comment

The Law of Attraction has been cheapened by the pop culture. However, it exists and works, if you work it right.

The Law of Attraction is, in fact, only one of many laws that govern the mind and its connection to reality. But let’s stick to it because it is probably the most important law that governs human life.

The Law Has Become Something of a Cliche

As a modern man, you’ll probably admit that you can hardly escape some mention of the law of attraction in the media – whether on Facebook, on TV, or in print. People are aware of it, and perhaps the biggest contributor to the popularization is the book titled The Secret.

I’m sure you’ve heard of it. The movie based on the book was a huge hit in the 2000’s.

Unfortunately, as a result of all the publicity, the Law became some sort of a cliche that is automatically dismissed when mentioned. I mean, your friend posts something like, “Thoughts Are Things” on your timeline, how will you react to it?

Okay, you ‘like’ the post. You share it because you feel it’s profound and shareworthy. Or, rather, you think that others may think it profound, so you share it.

This is how the Law becomes lost to the oblivion of the mass conscious.

But the truth is, the Law is probably the main law governing human reality.

If you don’t believe me, perhaps you’ll believe the Buddha who said this 2,500 years ago: “All mental phenomena have mind as their forerunner; they have mind as their chief; they are mind-made” (Dhammapada, Verse 1).

So, I’d like to explain it very briefly and give you a simple way to use it to begin consciously creating your reality.

The Law of Attraction Works on Two Levels

Level 1. Attracting the Thoughts

Your thoughts, when highly emotionalized, attract other thoughts that are similar in vibration quality. I learned this concept from John Kehoe, the author of Mind Power into the 21st Century, a very good book on the Law that came out back in the 80’s.

So, this means that when you think a thought, and you have some emotion attached to it, or if it causes the emotion, the more intense the emotion and the clearer the thought, the stronger its power to bring into your conscious other thoughts of similar quality.

For example, if you’ve been thinking of how to start earning more money, at some point you may grow some emotions around this thought. Now, you have some intense desire and possibly a degree of faith.

Because desire and faith are strong emotions, your mind begins to attract thoughts – from your mind as well as from the ‘infinite intelligence’ (let’s call it that, using Napoleon Hill’s term).

Now, your mind is getting some very good, charged up ideas on how to make more money. And the quality of the ideas is very high. These are some excellent, powerful ideas. Perhaps more powerful than the initial thoughts that attracted them.

Level 2. Attracting the Circumstances

The Law of Attraction also enables the interaction between you and the outside world. In other words, this is the meaning of “thoughts are things,” which indeed they are.

The most basic level on which you can test this is the function of your Reticular Activating System (RAS). You may have heard this example, but if you’ve been dreaming of a red sports car, at some point you begin seeing red sports cars everywhere.

The higher levels on which the Law bridges the mind and the outside world are quite mysterious. It can be very bizarre, and I’ve had these experiences, when I thought a very highly charged thought vibrating with faith and desire and, shortly, got exactly the solution I wanted. It just came.

I’m sure you’ve had such experiences, too. But in the past it has probably been sporadic and semi-conscious. It is time to befriend the Law and let it help you in a systematic way.

Do you want more money, more time off, and less stress and worry? Begin attracting what you really want.

A Simple Method to Make the Law of Attraction Work for You

Step 1. Decide What You Want

This is the hardest step for some men. But once you get it, everything else becomes so much easier.

And to start you don’t have to decide on everything you want in your life. Just take one area and think of a goal. Let’s say you want to double your income this year. Great. This is a very clear goal.

Now write down the goal somewhere so you could refer back to it and make adjustments. Yes, you can definitely tweak your goal, because it’s yours. You can do whatever you want with it.

Step 2. Create a Vision of the Goal

What will your life be like when you’ve achieved the goal?

You don’t have to write it down. Just create a mental picture.

Step 3. Practice Visualizing Every Day

Every day, preferably in the morning, sit down quietly (you can put some meditation music on) and see yourself in your mind’s eye enjoying your new level of income.

What will you be doing? How will you be feeling?

What will have changed in contrast to your life today?

See yourself in this new world where you earn twice as much money, and see it as if it’s happening now. The image, the movie, will eventually start to evoke emotions. It will be growing more and more real to you.

Now, you are using the Law of Attraction to your advantage, and you’re doing it consciously. And it will work for you on the two levels I’ve described – on the level of thoughts and on the level of manifesting outer reality.

There’s a lot more that can be done with the mind, but if you do only this simple exercise every day for 5 minutes, you will set in motion something very powerful that will change your life.

Till next time,
